Actuality and Futurism
The inauguration of The Crown, the new landmark by Daniel Libeskind, are at the heart of this edition of the Casalgrande Padana magazine and the Earth series partnership with Pininfarina

The journey of research and experimentation conducted by Casalgrande Padana alongside notable design studios is being continuously consolidated and developed with increasingly significant and diverse work projects, as we explain in this edition of “Percorsi in ceramica”, with the help of two names right out of the top drawer of the design world: Daniel Libeskind and Pininfarina. The car is the symbolic guiding thread behind this edition of the magazine, which touches on actuality and futurism, examining expression, perception and production across architecture, design, artistic research and the final industrial stage. Indeed, hundreds of cars rotate around The Crown every day. The iconic architectural monolith, designed by Daniel Libeskind, was inaugurated on 17 October with the most senior regional authorities, the Minister for Infrastructure Graziano Del Rio and the architect himself looking on. It is a work created thanks to the patronage of Casalgrande Padana which – a mere stone’s throw from the Ceramic Cloud by Kengo Kuma, another undisputed master of international architecture – has helped to construct a moment that looks to the future, that experiments with innovative uses of ceramics and – with a symbol brimming with identity – consolidates the deep bond between the company and its local region. The car is also the protagonist of the chapter dedicated to the partnership recently launched between Casalgrande Padana – the marker leader in the production of hi- tech ceramic materials – and Pininfarina, the internationally renowned design house with far-reaching traditions in the automotive industry, where it has produced many acclaimed vehicles that have become part of the history of the global cars industry. The first product of the joining-of-forces of these two Italian success stories is Earth by Pininfarina, a new line of porcelain stoneware tiles and exclusive decorations inspired by the glorious traditions of the Turin-based brand. The new series had a successful unveiling at the last edition of Cersaie in Bologna. The edition is made complete with a round-up of the latest new products exhibited by Casalgrande Padana at Cersaie, the foremost trade fair in the world for ceramics in architecture. Look out for the Pietre Native Line – Pietre di Paragone Series.
